In mid-June, the vice-chair of the Riga City Council Andris Ameriks and the director of the Property Department Oļegs Burovs presented the 14 works submitted to the international sketch competition for development of a project of a pre-school educational establishment in Riga, located at 6/10/12A Tallinas Street, for public viewing. Owing to the great interest and visitation rate of the residents, the exhibition of kindergarten mock-ups will be extended until 22 July.
The exhibition will be open in the hall of the 3rd floor at the Riga City Council (at Rātslaukums 1).
As reported, the Property Department announced the competition at the beginning of April and great interest was expressed by Latvian and foreign architects’ offices alike. The jury commission, which will be assessing the applications until mid-July, includes technical experts, who will be considering construction parameters and conformity to normative requirements, and architects, as well as experts from the Education, Culture, and Sports Department of Riga City Council and from the Latvian Association of Private Preschools.
